About the team
The three primary contributors to this web site first bumped into each through a mutual colleague while pursuing their Burg Reuland family histories. They reached out to one another in late 2020, and have been collaborating intensively on Burg Reuland genealogy since that time. Their work has frequently relied on the work of other colleagues, some of whose contributions are identified on this site.
Yvette Longstaff
Yvette, a native of Nancy, France, worked for eight years as the French reference consultant at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. In that capacity, she transcribed countless European documents, including numerous trips to work on original documents in European archives.
Sharon Birnbaum
Sharon Birnbaum, a distant cousin of Yvette's (fifth cousin twice removed), started working on her Burg Reuland roots in the mid 1990s. Her key involvement in this project has been preparing and reviewing search tools. Sharon and her husband Stan have also toured and photographed the border triangle region extensively.
Stan Birnbaum
Sharon's husband Stan, divides his time on this project between researching his wife's roots, helping with search tools, and providing technology support to the team. He also prepares the team's completed work for publication.
